...because we believe in Talent Education.
At the heart of the Suzuki teaching method, is the belief in the desire of all humans to learn, and that learning creates talent. Talent is created on successful and correct repetitions of small lessons, like building blocks to a tall tower.
...because we teach the entire child.
Learning to play the classical guitar is the stated goal of our program, but don't be fooled, it's the entire child we aim to teach. The child will learn that he or she can succeed with every small disciplined step. They will learn value of practice, math, and what makes music beautiful. The goal is not professional musicians, but enriched and thoughtful human beings.
“I want to make good citizens. If a child hears fine music from the day of his birth and learns to play it himself, he develops sensitivity, discipline and endurance. He gets a beautiful heart.” - Mr. Shinichi Suzuki
...because it's fun!
Suzuki is often called the Mother Tongue Approach because it is modeled after how a child learns their native language. They are naturally engaged and try to repeat sounds they hear. Like Montessori learning, games are incorporated into the lessons, and lessons are always based on building success...and success makes everyone happy :)
